Privacy Policy — DeveloperOneView

Last updated: 22 August 2026

This policy explains what the DeveloperOneView mobile application (“the App”) collects, why, and what choices you have. The App is published by RISEOTECH PRIVATE LIMITED (“Riseotech”, “we”), The Riseonic, Plot 38, Gota, Ahmedabad 382470, Gujarat, India.

The App appears as DOV on your home screen and in your device settings.

It covers the App on both iOS and Android. Sections 1–9 and 12 apply to everyone. Sections 10 and 11 add detail specific to each platform.

Contents

Part A — Applies to all users

Everything in this part is true regardless of which device you use.

1. Who controls your data

The App is workforce-management software licensed to employers. When you use it:

  • Your employer is the data controller. They decide what is collected, how long it is kept, and who inside the organisation can see it.
  • Riseotech is the data processor. We operate the App and its servers on your employer’s instructions and do not use your data for our own purposes.

Questions about why your employer collects something, or requests to correct or delete records, should go to your employer’s HR team first. We will act on their instructions.

2. What the App collects

Information you or your employer provide

  • Name, employee ID, work email, phone number, designation, department, reporting manager, work location and shift
  • Personal details held in your employee record: gender, date of joining, nationality or country, home and communication address, city and state, qualification and years of experience
  • Profile photograph (optional — chosen from your device’s photo library)
  • Attendance, check-in and check-out records, leave applications, tasks and meeting records
  • Salary information, including your CTC, payslips and payroll records created by your employer

Most of these details are entered by your employer in the DeveloperOneView web portal. The App displays them to you and, for the items listed under “Location” and “Automatically collected” below, records new information from your device.

Location

The App uses location in two distinct ways, and both require your permission:

  • While using the App — to verify that a check-in or check-out happens from a location your employer has approved.
  • In the background, while you are checked in — when you check in from the App, your location is shared with your employer until you check out. This lets your employer verify where work is carried out, including client visits and site work, without separate paperwork. Tracking begins only when you check in and stops as soon as you check out. It does not run outside your checked-in hours, and it does not run at all if you do not check in from the App. Supervisors who have been granted access to view the live tracking map are not themselves tracked.

You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings. Some attendance features will not work without it.

Automatically collected

  • Device model, operating system version, app version, and a device identifier — used to secure sessions and to bind an account to an approved device
  • Push notification token, so the App can deliver alerts
  • Diagnostic and usage data, including screens visited and interactions, collected through Microsoft Clarity to help us find and fix problems
  • App update checks — each time the App starts it asks our update service (Expo) whether a newer version of the App’s code is available. That request includes your platform, the App’s runtime version and your IP address.

Stored on your device

Login sessions and cached records are stored locally so the App works during poor connectivity. Signing out clears them.

3. Why we process it

PurposeBasis
Recording attendance, leave, tasks and payrollYour employment relationship and your employer’s instructions
Verifying check-in location and field visitsYour employer’s legitimate interest in accurate attendance records, with your consent to location access
Delivering notifications and remindersOperating the service you are enrolled in
Security, fraud prevention, device bindingProtecting your employer’s data and your account
Diagnostics and product improvementOur legitimate interest in a working product

We do not sell your data, share it with data brokers, or use it for advertising. We do not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.

4. Who we share it with

  • Your employer — the organisation that licenses the App. This is the primary recipient of everything the App records.
  • Service providers who help us run it: cloud hosting, push notification delivery, transactional email, over-the-air app updates (Expo), and Microsoft Clarity for diagnostics. They may process data only on our instructions.
  • Authorities, where we are legally required to disclose information.

5. Where it is stored and for how long

Data is stored on servers operated by Riseotech in India.

Processing outside India. Your employment records are stored on our servers in India. A limited set of technical data is processed outside India by the service providers named in Section 4: diagnostic and usage data by Microsoft Clarity, push notification tokens and message delivery by Firebase Cloud Messaging (Android) and the Apple Push Notification service (iOS), and app-update requests by Expo. We transfer only what those services need to function, under contractual terms restricting them to our instructions.

Attendance, leave, payroll and related records are employment records. Your employer is required to keep them for statutory, tax and audit purposes, and relies on unbroken history for reporting. We therefore retain them for as long as your employer maintains its licence to the App, and thereafter for as long as applicable law requires.

Your employer may instruct us to delete or anonymise specific records at any time, and we will act on that instruction unless the law requires us to keep them.

6. Your rights

Subject to the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may:

  • request access to the personal data we hold about you
  • request correction of inaccurate data
  • request erasure, subject to your employer’s record-keeping obligations
  • withdraw consent for optional permissions such as location or photo access
  • nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf

To exercise any of these, contact your employer’s HR team, or write to us at the address in Section 9.

Account deactivation

Accounts in the App are created and managed by your employer, not self-registered. There is no self-service delete, because the records attached to an account are your employer’s employment records rather than a personal profile.

When you leave the organisation or your access ends, your employer deactivates your account. From that point you can no longer sign in, and the App stops collecting anything from your device — including location. Your historical attendance, leave and payroll records are retained as described in Section 5.

If you want your personal data erased, contact your employer’s HR team. The decision is theirs, subject to the record-keeping obligations above, and we act on their instructions. You may also write to us at the address in Section 9 and we will forward your request to them.

7. Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Access is restricted to authorised personnel. Sessions are bound to approved devices. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information.

8. Children

The App is intended for use by employees and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Part B — iOS only

Additional detail for the App on iPhone and iPad.

10. iOS permissions and services

Permissions we ask for

  • Location — While Using the App: to confirm check-in and check-out happen from an approved location.
  • Location — Always: so your location can continue to be recorded between check-in and check-out while the App is in the background. iOS shows a status indicator whenever your location is being read in the background, and periodically asks you to confirm you still want to allow it.
  • Photo Library: to let you choose a profile picture. We access only the image you select.
  • Notifications: to deliver attendance reminders and alerts.

Managing permissions

Open Settings → DOV on your device. Each permission can be changed or revoked there at any time.

Push notifications

Delivered through the Apple Push Notification service. Apple handles the message in transit and does not retain its contents.

Tracking

The App does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies, so no App Tracking Transparency prompt is shown. Diagnostic data collected through Microsoft Clarity is used only to improve this App.

Part C — Android only

Additional detail for the App on Android phones and tablets.

11. Android permissions and services

Permissions we declare

PermissionWhy
ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION, ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATIONConfirm check-in and check-out happen from an approved location
ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATIONRecord location between check-in and check-out, including client visits and site work
FOREGROUND_SERVICE, FOREGROUND_SERVICE_LOCATIONKeep location recording running reliably while you are checked in, with a persistent notification
POST_NOTIFICATIONSDeliver attendance reminders and alerts

Foreground service notice

While you are checked in, Android displays an ongoing notification. That notification is your signal that location is being shared. Checking out removes it and stops location sharing.

Managing permissions

Open Settings → Apps → DOV → Permissions. Each permission can be changed or revoked there at any time.

Push notifications

Delivered through Firebase Cloud Messaging, a Google service. Google handles the message in transit as our processor.

12. Changes to this policy

This section applies to all users, on both platforms.

We may update this policy as the App changes. The Last updated date at the top always reflects the current version. Material changes affecting how we handle your data will be communicated through the App or by your employer.
